In a virtual reality system, training equipment and standardized patients are substituted by 3d models and software reusability allow for a standardized education. Dentists set a high value on haptic stimuli(e.g., injection of needle and finger rest on teeth). However, the prevalent VR systems concentrate on the visual and auditory stimuli, not on the tactile stimuli. Therefore, this research focuses on providing realistic tactile stimuli for advanced VR simulator.
